Splendours of the Pays Toy
The Pays Toy is one of the 7 Lavedan valleys, lying south of Lourdes. The term Toy (pronounced like the English « toy ») means small, and was used by inhabitants of the foothills to make fun of those living in the high valleys.
The Pays Toy is made up of three valleys: Barèges, Gavarnie and Luz-Saint-Sauveur. Each one has its own iconic spot: the Tourmalet pass, the Gavarnie cirque, and the Ardiden ski resort.
